Infant Sleep Support

When your baby isn’t sleeping well, it can affect the entire family, including your baby’s mood and regulation, your own emotional wellbeing, and the relationship between you and your baby. And when you’re exhausted and overwhelmed, it can be incredibly difficult to know what to change, what to keep doing, or whether you’re doing the “right” thing.

My infant sleep program offers a therapeutic, attachment-based approach to sleep that considers the needs of both the baby and the parent. Sleep difficulties are often intertwined with emotional regulation, parental stress and anxiety, infant neurodevelopment, and the parent–baby relationship. Together, we explore your baby’s sleep patterns, developmental needs, regulation, and temperament, while also considering your experiences, concerns, beliefs, and emotional responses to sleep. The goal is not simply to get your baby sleeping, but to understand what may be contributing to the difficulty and support healthier sleep while protecting the developing infant and parental brain, nervous system, and relationship.

My approach is grounded in attachment, developmental neuroscience, and stress-system development research. We work collaboratively to identify your goals, build on your family’s strengths, and develop approaches that support rest while remaining responsive to your baby’s developmental and emotional needs.

Sleep is more than sleep.

Sleep support might be a good fit for you if:

  • You’re exhausted from frequent night wakings or difficult bedtimes.

  • Sleep has become a source of anxiety, frustration, guilt or conflict.

  • You’re feeling overwhelmed by conflicting sleep advice.

  • You have specific questions related to night weaning, a new baby arriving in the home, or changing the way your baby falls asleep

  • You’re wondering how to support your baby’s sleep while preserving the relationship, maintaining connection, responsiveness and/or your feeding relationship.

  • You want to make changes that meet the needs of your family and don’t want a one-size-fits all plan.

  • Or you simply want another set of experienced eyes to help you understand what’s going on and how to make changes that work towards your goals.

With specialized training in developmental neuroscience, infant and parental wellbeing, attachment, and infant sleep, I can help you make sense of your baby’s unique sleep needs and patterns while considering the bigger picture of their development, regulation and your relationship.
